Of course, a catamaran trip is a must here in the Caribbean. A catamaran is a boat that has two hulls.
The typical equipment of a catamaran includes seating and counter areas, sun decks and shaded areas as well as an interior area that offers protection from high waves. The advantage lies in the faster speed at which the two-hull boat can move.
Our catamaran tour starts in Cancun and the destination is Isla Mujeres, which is about 14 km away. After boarding the boat at 9 a.m. in Cancun, you can enjoy an all inclusive drink service!
Because of the hard-drinking guests, the first thing on the way to Isla Mujeres is the snorkeling trip. From the catamaran we swim over the unique reef. The Mesoamerican Reef is the longest transboundary coral reef in the world and the second largest coral reef after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
Then it’s on to Isla Mujeres. There you can buy some souvenirs before we start with the buffet on the
beach. Then we sail back relaxed and we will be back in Playa del Carmen in the late afternoon.
What does this excursion include?
The price includes pick-up and drop-off at hotel lobby in air-conditioned minivan, lunch buffet, good mood and all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for free.
Not included :
The reef fee (actually impuesto federal = federal tax) of 13 USD must be paid to the Mexican government directly at the marina before boarding the catamaran.
Recommendation :
Please bring pesos or USD for the reef fee and for personal expenses such as souvenirs. Don’t forget
your swimwear and sunscreen, and you should definitely bring a headgear / cap.
